The Egg is 5/8ths of an inch in size and hangs from a delicate 24 karat gold plated 18 inch chain. Original made by Workmaster Michael Perchin in Saint Petersburg between the years 1899 and 1903. The Egg has alternating horizontal stripes of deep red and white enamel with a base of deep red. Surmounting the stripes is a 2.5 inch replica of the Imperial Crown in gold set with crystals.

The Limoges Porcelain case is a hand painted gold rectangle copied from a Presentation Box, and and is worked in relief with laurel leaves surrounding an oval cartouche featuring the Cyrillic monogram of Tsar Nicholas.II. The clasp, a Romanov Double Headed Eagle. The case carries the mark Fabergé Limoges.
