In photographs of the Imperial
Regalia, the artifacts associated with the
rulers of Russia, (the crown, scepter and
other symbols of rule), the Crown shown here
always holds the place of importance. It is
reasonable to assume, therefore, that this
was the crown used at the coronation of Nicholas
II.
It has been reproduced here in
sterling silver and large Austrian crystals
that dissect the crown into 4 segments. Also,
there are two bands of blue running from front
to back of the crown that most likely consisted
of sapphires, but here are done in deep blue
enamel. At the apex of the crown rises a small
cross and around the base of the crown is another
band of Austrian crystals. The actual crown
was completely set in diamonds, here the stones
are replicated in sterling. The base of the
crown unscrews, the inside is a deep compartment
lined in sapphire blue velvet and is large
enough to hold a ring or small piece of jewelry.
The base is impressed with the Romanov Double
Eagle, the name Fabergé and
the hallmarks. Also there is a small plaque
displaying the item number of this Limited
Edition. The Crown is 1.5 inches in diameter
and just over 2.5 inches high. It is documented
and comes in a blue velvet case impressed with
the Romanov Double Eagle and the name Fabergé.
Retail: $300.00. Our price: $269.90.
