Presented by Nicholas II to his wife, Tsarina Alexandra Fedorovna on the first Easter following their Coronation in 1897. The Egg celebrates the coronation, inspired by the colorful ceremony and the gold robes worn by the Empress. The enamel guilloché Egg is overlaid with a chased gold trellis punctuated at each intersection with a minute replica of the double headed Romanov Eagle insignia, set with an Austrian crystal.

Inside, the replica of the Coronation Coach. It is 5/8ths of an inch wide. The detail on it is exactly copied from the original. How they did it in this minute replica is a marvel of craftsmanship. All metal used is gold plated sterling silver. This Egg has a bale for wearing.
