A one inch high replica
of the Egg that Nicholas II presented to the
Tsarina Alexandra Fedorovna for Easter, 1903.
The Egg was a tribute to Russia's economic
and political achievements. Portraits of Peter
the Great, the founder of St. Petersburg, and
Nicholas II, are prominently displayed on it.
Also displayed are miniatures of
Peter's home, a hut it is said that he built
with his own hands, and The Winter Palace,
where Nicholas entertained so lavishly. The Egg is studded
with Austrian crystals and cabochon rubies.
Inside the Egg is a replica of the statue of
Peter the Great astride his horse that still
stands on the banks of the Neva River in St.
Petersburg.
The Egg has the Romanov crown pierced with
a tiny bale for wearing at its apex and
it sits on a matching pedestal set on a base
of Siberian Jade when it is not being worn.
Retail: $500.00. Our price: $449.90.
