The Nutcracker Ballet Egg features the Prince and the Mouse King, the egg being mounted on the Romanov Dynasty Double Eagle Pedestal.

The right side of the Egg as shown in the graphic appears flat because it is the portion of the egg that is cut flat, it is the viewing lens. It is actually incorporated into the design and is not an anomaly to the design. Looking through that lens you see the interior of the Egg with all of the intricacies of the cuts. It is what makes these pieces so outstanding. When you look at cut crystal normally what you see are the exterior cuts. Here you can see the cuts from various interior angles and that is truly the fascination of these Eggs.
