This exquisite box is made in Limoges, France of Porcelain encrusted in gold and worked in bas relief simulating chased gold. The lid has an elaborate cartouche formed by arabesques in the center of which is the Romanov Double Eagle crest. The work on this box has been so perfectly executed that only by looking at the underside of the box would you know that it is not gold. I had to pick it up and look at the base to be certain that it was porcelain.

Inside is a burnished gold finish with the inscription in script, "Always, my love." The clasp has a large cabochon centered within a sweeping leaf setting. The Perfect Gift for anyone you love dearly.
